Tom comes to Purple Pig Realty with over 40 years of experience in the home building and appraisal business. He gained extensive knowledge of the real estate market in Sabine County during his twenty-four years working at the Sabine County Appraisal District where he retired as Chief Appraiser. Through his work with a Certified General Appraiser in East Texas, Tom gained knowledge of the surrounding counties of Newton, Jasper, Tyler, San Augustine, and Shelby. In August 2017, Tom moved to the Northwest Austin area to work with his oldest son Thomas who started the corporation Zollege, parent company of Vandelay Education. Thomas and his dad has a passion for giving back to the community and wanted to help homelessness in the Austin area so they created Purple Pig Realty. This was the first real estate company in Texas granted by the Texas Real Estate Commission as a PBC (Public Benefit Corporation). Now an LLC, the company continues this endeavor and gives a portion of its commission to a 501(c)(3) charity in the local community chosen by a buyer or seller represented by Purple Pig Realty. The company is currently in a new facility on Hwy 87 just north of the Hemphill city limits.

Tom has coached with the Hemphill Dixie League for several years and worked with the local Boy Scout troop. He and his wife Cindy have been happily married for 41 years and are members of First Baptist Church in Hemphill.
